The Importance of a Calgary Painting Contractor that Has Insurance and Warranties

When searching for a Calgary painting contractor, you should look for a number of different things.  The most important factor you should take into consideration is whether the company offers a warranty, and if it carries an insurance policy of some kind.  Why is this so important, in fact more so than factors such as the price, the experience and the quality and reliability of the testimonials?

Let’s start with insurance.  Let’s assume you hire a painting contractor in Calgary, a company whose workers are not insured.  You have them paint the second story of your house, but in the process of painting, one of the workers falls down with the ladder and has to be hospitalized.  The worker is not going to be looking to pay for his own hospital bill, because his not being insured will make YOU, the client, the guilty party.  You will likely be sued for all the trouble of hiring a dubious Calgary painting contractor without proper coverage.  On a less dangerous note, if the paint job is completed and you’re not satisfied, you’ll be paying for the repairs on your own dime.

Warranties are somewhat similar to the latter situation – a good painting contractor in Calgary should always have a policy where they can redo the painting job for free if the customer is not satisfied or if the paint job starts chipping early on, for instance.  If the company you’re going to be working with doesn’t offer a warranty of at least five years, they don’t deserve your business.
